Overview
In this article, we’ll show you how to configure commission tiers for your sales team. We'll cover how to set Gross Profit (GP) Minimums and Maximums to ensure your sales team is rewarded fairly while keeping every sale aligned with your business’s profitability goals. Let's get started!
- From your workspace dashboard, select Settings
- Then, edit a salesperson by clicking the pen icon to the left of the salesperson details
- Now, click Commission at the top
- On the Commission screen click Add to begin creating your commission brackets
- In the Add Commission Settings window, click + Add Rate
For your first tier, the GP Min (%) defaults to 0%
Note: The GP Min % acts as the "floor" for each tier. Each subsequent tier’s GP Min % will automatically populate with the GP Max % of the previous tier.
Now, enter the GP Max (%) for this first tier
This is the 'ceiling' for the bracket—the highest GP percentage an order can have while still qualifying for this specific commission rate.
Then, assign the Commission (%) payout for this tier
If an order meets the GP minimum and maximum requirements, this percentage will be used to calculate the salesperson's earnings
Click + Add Rate to build out your commission ladder and further incentivize this salesperson
When you're done adding your commission tiers, click Save
- That's it! Your commission structure for this salesperson is live. Don't forget to repeat these steps for each member of your sales team to ensure everyone is properly incentivized.
